Artist Statement:
I am on the computer a good portion of the day for design work, so
printmaking is a refreshing, hands-on, tactile escape. I wanted to
work with a theme that was playful, intuitive, and simple.
Illustrating a two-character vignette of an animal stalking its prey
seemed like a fun way to start. I began with a fox and chicken. One
print led to the next, until I had a small collection! This show
features hand printed screen and relief prints of animals and their
food. Scientifically speaking, predator-prey relationships show how
energy is passed from creature to creature within a habitat or
ecosystem. My prints depict herbivores, scavengers, carnivores,
woodland and sea creatures as well as urban wildlife. Exploring food
chains and food webs has kept this simple theme interesting for me.

Bio:
A native of Mystic, Connecticut, Karli Kane Hendrickson is a graduate
of Skidmore College where she received a BS degree in Studio Art,
concentrating in Communication Design. Karli’s undergraduate work has
been shown in group exhibitions internationally as well as locally in
her hometown. In her undergraduate thesis work Karli explored the
theme of human-land interactions as seen through invented landscapes
created through digital collage. Currently, Karli is working as a
freelance graphic designer and illustrator in Providence, RI while
continuing to make her own art.

Theme:
-Escapism is mental diversion by means of entertainment or recreation, as an "escape" from the perceived unpleasant or banal aspects of daily life. It can also be used as a term to define the actions people take to help relieve persisting feelings of depression or general sadness.

All of my previous works of art have revolved around intimacy, detail, accuracy; certain individuals, precision and what is accessible to the naked eye. When what one expects or yearns to indulge in visually, is left disclosed or isn’t provided – significant details, in absence, it leaves one responsible to engage with the artwork. Make what one wants of it. I want my viewers to let their own ideas evolve and unearth meaning to these works that pulse vacant details and lack information.
The hidden, the misunderstood; it leaves one wanting, needing, more.

Bio: Studied painting at Catholic University in Washington,D.C. Received a B.A. in 1988. Has worked professionally in the art and design fields for over twenty years. Has shown in New York, San Francisco, DC and Connecticut. In NYC, worked for Ralph Lauren and Abercrombie & Fitch among others designing, building and decorating sets.

In 2003, opened Ye Olde Schoole Shoppe, the seminal sportswear boutique & skate shop, where he also created a line of clothing under the same name. In 2007, spearheaded the opening of Muse, the footwear boutique/gallery collaboration by DJ Frank Marchany and artist Denny Rivera. In 2009, built the skate shop addition at Muse. In 2010, worked for Rivera as a stylist for his Klash One fashion show.

Statement:In trying to write an “artist” statement for my
first solo show I have decided it best to not and may
just ramble for a bit. I tried to word it to not sound like a
kook, I tried to dedicate it but always felt like I was
leaving someone out. So fuck it. These are paintings,
drawings, random ideas that I have had pop into my head
that I decided to put out in one way or another, All in all, I would like
to say thank you to the people who deserve it and to the music I listened

Bio:
Born on a treacherous stormy night in the summer of '79 in Jacksonville, FL to Edward & Darlene Harris. Started drawing in '82 & hasn't stopped since. Even though he is a painter/fine artist, TTK is known worldwide as a reknown sneaker customizer. He has won numerous awards, produced work for celebrities, & worked with footwear brands. His work has been published in 'Custom Kicks' by Laurence King publishing. He has also been featured on the History channel along with being a featured live artist on the Sneaker Pimps world tour. His work can be seen at WWW.GOTTKGO.COM & at Sole Food NYC in Manhattan.

Statement:
To All The Girls... is an idea I've had for years. I never pursued it until now. I hate being boxed into a category, I prefer to be unpredictable. This project may raise a few eyebrows, but oh well. If you're not taking risk, you're not living.

Boston based illustrator SCOTT MONTEIRO and his partner in crime LIAM BOYLE are creating a comic about zombies. In Scott's words: "It is soooooo much more than that. This is our story. This is how people like us, our generation would react in the face of a crisis of this proportion. Will our slacker generation have what it takes to pull itself together in order to conquer this or will they fall prey their own inflated sense of self worth and misguided logic, tearing themselves apart in the process? I’ll give you the tiniest of hints: both Liam and myself hate happy endings." This is a work in progress & the show reflects what is the beginning of a comic book or perhaps a graphic novel. The story will be told between two galleries in New London directly across the street from each other, so when the work leaves you wanting more, there will be......

Both galleries will be open during the day with new merchandise for sale from t-shirts, bags, denim, hand sewn clothes from local designers
